Feedback for hotels

Find out what is wrong while the guest is still staying with you

A QR code in the room or at reception gives guests a simple way to speak up during their stay. Before submitting a rating, they see two equal options: contact you privately or continue to a public review.

HejSpoko helps hotels catch problems while the guest is still staying on the premises. A QR code can be placed in the room, at reception or on a checkout document. Before submitting a rating, the guest sees both private feedback and public review options. A low rating sends the owner or manager a notification within a minute.

The right moment

Where should a hotel place the QR code?

Put it where the guest can use it while the issue can still be addressed.

Place the QR code directly in the room or somewhere the guest naturally sees during the stay. If something is wrong, they do not need to wait until checkout or search for reception contact details.

Each room can have its own QR code, allowing the feedback overview to show where the message came from. You can also place the code at reception or on a document given to the guest when they leave.

If towels are missing, noise is disturbing the guest or the room is not as clean as expected, they can tell you while there is still time to deal with the situation.

How it works

What happens when a guest scans the QR code?

No app and no need to search for an email address or phone number.

  1. They rate the stay

Scanning the QR code opens a simple page where the guest can rate their experience with one tap.

  2. They choose where to write

Before submitting the rating, they see equal options to send private feedback to the hotel or continue to a public review.

  3. You are alerted to a problem

A low rating triggers a notification within a minute. If the guest is still staying with you, staff can investigate and try to resolve the issue during the stay.

Google plus a second door

Why is a QR code straight to Google not enough?

Google and Tripadvisor reviews matter to hotels. HejSpoko does not replace them; it adds a direct route for the guest to tell you about a problem.

During the stay

What can you fix before the guest checks out?

Many hotel problems can still be addressed if you hear about them early enough.

Something is missing from the room

The guest needs towels, another room item or has noticed a cleanliness problem. If they say nothing, the hotel may only learn about it from a review after checkout.

The issue comes directly to you

A low rating triggers a notification and shows which room or QR code the feedback came from. Staff can investigate while the guest is still staying at the hotel.

Noise or discomfort affects the stay

The problem may continue through the night without reception knowing about it. The guest can then leave feeling that nothing was done, even though the hotel never had a chance to respond.

You have a chance to respond earlier

A manager or reception team can contact the guest, check the situation and, where possible, offer a solution before the stay ends.

No review gating

Can HejSpoko hide Google from an unhappy guest?

No. Private feedback and the public review option are displayed equally before the guest submits their rating.

Review gating based on the number of stars is therefore not merely disabled in HejSpoko. It is technically impossible because no submitted rating exists when the two options are displayed.

Google or Tripadvisor remain available to every guest. HejSpoko simply adds another option: tell the hotel directly what went wrong.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked

Does HejSpoko replace Google or Tripadvisor reviews?

No. Public reviews remain part of the process and guests can reach them directly from the HejSpoko screen. They also see an equally visible option to send private feedback to the hotel. Both options appear before the guest submits their rating, so access to public reviews does not depend on the score.

Where should a hotel place the QR code?

The room is the most useful location because the guest can use the QR code while a problem is happening. You can also place it at reception or on a checkout document. With separate QR sources, the overview can show which room or location the feedback came from.

What happens when a guest gives a low rating during their stay?

The owner or manager receives a notification within a minute. The overview shows the rating, comment, feedback category and QR code source. If the guest is still staying at the hotel, staff can investigate the issue. If contact details were provided, the hotel can also reply by email.

Does HejSpoko filter unhappy guests away from public reviews?

No. That type of review gating is technically impossible in HejSpoko. Private feedback and public review options are shown before the rating is submitted and receive equal treatment. The system therefore cannot use the rating result to decide who sees a public review option and who does not.
