Feedback for restaurants

Find out what went wrong while the guest is still at the table

A QR code on the table or receipt opens one simple screen. The guest can contact you directly or continue to Google, Tripadvisor or another configured review platform.

HejSpoko helps restaurants catch dissatisfaction while the guest is still on the premises. The guest scans a QR code on the table or receipt, rates the experience and sees both private feedback and public review options before submitting. A low rating sends the owner or manager a notification within a minute, allowing the issue to be addressed before the guest leaves.

The right place

Where should a restaurant place the QR code?

Put it where the guest has time and a reason to use it.

The table is the most natural place for the QR code. The guest sees it throughout the visit and does not have to remember to leave feedback only when they are already leaving.

You can also place the code on a receipt or another item handed to the guest when they pay. A table placement gives you the best chance to learn about a problem while there is still time to address it.

If a guest has been waiting too long, received cold food or feels ignored by the staff, they can tell you immediately instead of leaving unhappy and speaking up only in a public review later.

How it works

What happens when a guest scans the QR code?

The whole process works without installing an app.

  1. They rate the visit

Scanning the QR code opens a simple page where the guest can rate their experience with one tap.

  2. They choose where to write

Before submitting the rating, they see equal options to send private feedback to the restaurant or continue to a public review.

  3. You are alerted to a problem

A low rating triggers a notification within a minute. If the guest is still at the table, you can investigate the issue before they leave.

Google plus a second door

Why is a QR code straight to Google not enough?

Google reviews matter. HejSpoko does not replace them; it adds a direct route for the guest to tell you about a problem.

While the guest is still there

What can you fix before the guest leaves?

Some problems stay small when you hear about them early.

The food arrived cold

The guest eats it, says nothing to the staff and has little reason to raise the issue when leaving. Their first detailed complaint may come later in a public review.

You hear about it immediately

A low rating triggers a notification. Staff or a manager can check what happened, replace the dish or explain the situation to the guest.

The guest has been waiting too long

Staff may not realise that a table is still waiting to order, receive food or pay. The guest may already feel that nobody is paying attention.

You can act before they leave

The feedback reaches someone who can address it. If the guest is still in the restaurant, you have a chance to improve the experience in person.

No review gating

Can HejSpoko hide Google from an unhappy guest?

No. Private feedback and the public review option are displayed equally before the guest submits their rating.

Review gating based on the number of stars is therefore not merely disabled in HejSpoko. It is technically impossible because no submitted rating exists when the two options are displayed.

Google remains available to every guest. HejSpoko simply adds another option: tell the restaurant directly what was wrong.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked

Does HejSpoko replace Google reviews for restaurants?

No. Public reviews remain part of the process and guests can reach them directly from the HejSpoko screen. The difference is that they also see an equally visible option to send private feedback to the restaurant. Both options appear before the guest submits their rating.

Where should a restaurant place the QR code?

The most practical place is directly on the table, where the guest can see the QR code throughout the visit. It can also be placed on the receipt or another item used when paying. A table placement improves the chance that you hear about a problem while the guest is still in the restaurant.

What happens when a guest gives a low rating?

The owner or manager receives a notification within a minute. The overview shows the rating, comment, feedback category and QR code source. If the guest is still at the table, staff can investigate the issue immediately. If contact details were provided, the restaurant can also reply by email.

Does HejSpoko filter unhappy guests away from Google reviews?

No. That type of review gating is technically impossible in HejSpoko. Private feedback and public review options are shown before the rating is submitted and receive equal treatment. The system therefore cannot use the rating result to decide who sees Google and who does not.
